this was the last film in the series from last evening (and the noteworthy one.) the film was very nicely done; the dance pieces were not simply recorded by the camera, they were choreographed for the camera. there were shots which showed movement from an angle that a live audience would not see (along the length of a wire?) a really excellent blend of dance and film. (i once read an essay, from about the 1950’s, which proposed that film and dance were ultimately compatible. i was doing research for a paper on hanya holm, but i don’t recall where this irrelevant but interesting article came from. i should look to see if i saved it.) anyway, the dance company in the film, ultima vez, will be in the us in the spring. unfortunately, only in burlington, vermont and in pittsburgh, pennsylvania. neither is close. i would like to see them live.

or a ningkling? ninkle? or inkle? (to inkle.)inclination? the dictionary etymology links the word inkling to the word for niche–nik. it also says that the word might have been falsely split (as an apron a napron.) a funny word.
